photoshopped or not whats up with that

have you ever heard about the tool photoshop well some people think some celebrities or models may use photobooth on their photo to get rid of any problems like wrinkles, body weight, freckles, blemishes, or any other problems thats they dont like about the picture which can be changes with literally a couple of clicks
i like the photoshop application but i dont see what wrong with celebrities using the app to change the appearennce of their pictures i guess because people are mad because people think celebrities should show how they really look but whats the big deal of them using photoshop when they have make up artist but i dont really know the big deal. this is from the article in the new york times"Dr. Farid and Eric Kee, a Ph.D. student in computer science at Dartmouth, are proposing a software tool for measuring how much fashion and beauty photos have been altered, a 1-to-5 scale that distinguishes the infinitesimal from the fantastic. Their research is being published this week in a scholarly journal, The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."
so im guessing they are just creating a new photoshop and updating it to to make it better so more people will use it once they see how it works with celebrities and more people will buy the softwair because i heard photoshop is kind of expensive. the program that Dr. farid is making will help show people when they get photoshop and use it their program will show how much the photo was altered from a 1-5 scale.
i dont think it should be a scale because who cares how altered it is as long as the picture looks nice
