i think the biggest story of 2011 was the death of osama bin laden osama bin laden was a terrerist who had parts to do with the 9/11 attack and the war in afghanistan when news fled out about his death many people were happy, relieved and they were filled with joy especially mothers and father and family members of people injured or killed in the war in afghanistan or the 9/11 attack here is what abc news had to say

Bin Laden was located at a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which was monitored and when the time was determined to be right, the president said, he authorized a "targeted operation."

"A small team of Americans carried out the operation," Obama said. "After a firefight, they killed osama  took cstody of his body." if that it not th tory of the decade  i dont know what is osama bin laden wasa very ba person and whatever he got he deserved because he caused alot of harm  violence and reck to parts of this world now only if the war in afghanistan was over.
